Sorry for not replying sooner guys, I've been flat out building at the Chelsea Flower Show since this was announced.
Yes indeed I have won - the first time I've ever won one of these competition things, although I don't enter many, but this one was for more than a hat and some stickers so I really fancied it. I have been winding it into Engcon about going snowmobiling over there since a few years ago some old forum members and others got a factory invite and did the whole snow sports thing too. So I will have to wait for some snow but look forward to getting it arranged and seeing how they do things over there.
Not sure how much I will be allowed to film, but would be cool to meet some other owner operators to see how they work, as well as the factory visit - and of course - the snowmobiling!!!
Will have to see what they come up with.

Fair play Gunners , you shouldn’t have needed to enter a competition for engcon to recognise how much free PR you are delivering for them .
I how the trip goes well and I’m looking forward to seeing the pics in your plant talk sweat shirt !

only time I've ever been on one of them is when they fetched me down off the mountain in Italy, on one, when I'd crocked/dislocated my knee ... didn't pay a lot of attention to how much potential fun it might've been :(

Should mention I had one’s ear bent last night . I forgot to mention that her indoors was also in attendance as well as my father
Great to hear from you Bill, haven't seen you since we were at school together ;)

Sadly, they don't let contractors in for the posh people bit. We all have to leave by the Sunday and pay full price if we want to see it in full swing during the week. Last year the designer I worked for paid himself for those of us who worked on the garden to get in for evening drinks on the garden which was great of him, but sadly, the two designers this year haven't been as forthcoming.
I'm back there tomorrow for breakdown so will have a quick look around before its all pulled apart again!

I can imagine they have spent enough on the whole thing as it is, can’t be a cheap hobby building them kind of gardens!

Strip down must be good, plenty of things to fill the truck up with? 😆
Breakdown is horrendous. By 10am tomorrow, all the plants will be back on the lorry as they are essentially rented for the show. Plenty of stuff gets skipped but getting it out of there logistically is a nightmare. During build, its phased as to who turns up and when. During breakdown its everyman for himself getting off site from the catering, marquee guys, trade stands and all the gardens....
Chaos is what it is, the most dangerous place I have ever worked and the traffic jams can go on for hours. Then they strip the electric, water and toilets out, then take away the parking.... before we have finished....
I hate breakdown - its the worst bit!
