Top pictures there. It'd be good to know some of the stories behind them, especially the bottom dump with the upside down cab.

Afraid I don’t know much about the photos. They came from the late Dennis Lean who was a large earthmoving contractor in the 50s 60s and 70s based in Warwickshire.
Was hoping by posting I could find out more about them myself

More old photos the better :)
Love the fact they use to drive the scrapers from job to job on the public highway

I think picture 1023 is was taken at either Wraysbury resevoir woring for Laings or maybe with W C French at Brentwood?
Are the tandem pushing 9’s Blackwells?

Those particular ones were brand new on delivery to their first job but in those days scrapers were regularly "tramped" from job to job.

That particular Le Tourneau pic was taken on the Brentwood by-pass but I have a bad image of it or another one taken at Wrasbury a couple of years later but with the cab over the centre bogie.
Yes, Blackwells D9s working with five 657s near Chesterfield. The 657 in my Avatar belonged to Pat Merriman.

Bit of history !
By the look of the machines I would say just after 1961 as that was when the first D9G came out ,but some of the photos look a bit older with the Euclud dump trucks and DW20 and followed by the DW 21s lovely photos and the Aveling Barford grader this is the first and second photos the last photos some where in the 1970 with some of the machines in them
