Hi every one I’m new here I do have a small excavator I want to try and identify but first I’m paul. I service and repair Honda goldwing motorcycles for my sins. But like to get my hands into a lot of oil lol. Have a vintage car I’m restoring and now required a small hitachi excavator any way that’s me lol.

welcome Boyo .....
and for your first contribution :giggle:
I have a GL1500 -6 -- '99 on the year
been laid up under covers in a dry shed .. not been turned over in several years and reluctant to do so, without changing the cam belts (in case they let go) - from memory it's done 15k miles .... much of a job ?? (apart from actually uncovering everything hiding behind all the plastics) :(
would like to get my leg over it and do a few miles this year, when the weather allows :rolleyes:

oh and what's the LCD display like to change? Mines gone black - new ones on ebay're about 70 quid, but looks to be some job to get at :unsure:
Cheers :giggle::giggle:

I call it the ghost - can't hear it coming

As for the lcd screen I’ve never done one but have friends that have and it is relatively easy also just a car full hand required Gates belts T 275 don’t over tighten the cam pulleys okay Nice wing I have. Hi jordy. If I was you and as you said it’s been stood a while ( how long ). Was the fuel removed from tank if not do not try and put fuel in until you remove fuel pump and inspect the fuel tank for rust and pump maybe seized can be brought back from the dead but takes. A bit of doing. If you have rust in tank remove old fuel leave pump out put in tank about3-4 gal of malt vinegar leave for 3 days then empty it clean out the internal of tank with rags all loose rust remove and power wash out clean out and dry it out with a hair dryer or heat gun until totally dry but do nut let it get too hot or you get other problems blow tank out with compressed air when cool put in 3 -4 gal of fresh fuel and work from there change fuel filter at same time

went on a Sunday and half the bloody tubes in London weren't running - barely made my connection for Cambridge and had to sprint the entire length of the platform to catch it ... thought I was gonna have a heart attack lugging a bag full of my riding gear and lid -- was the only train running there that day :mad:
took it to the south of France a couple of weeks later .. never missed a beat
and on a cold, wet, white shite day -- a bit of sun
Gorge d' Heric, Massif du Caroux, south of France - hiding in the shade on a 36C day :rolleyes:

flew 4 of the family down to Montpelier and rented them a car at the airport .. I had a lot of their luggage on/in the back .. and rode down with stepson Josh on his F650 Beemer to meet them. :giggle::giggle:

My brother in law lives in Germany and has a big old Goldwing. He let me take it for a spin - what a laugh, they are ace! A bit like riding a big jetski, and surprisingly easy to manoeuvre (much lighter/better balanced at low speeds than I anticipated).

yeh they handle very well for their size - too well really - only bike I've ever owned where I've worn out the front tyre before the back ..... she's a heavy old girl to chuck into corners -- my Z1000 shafty's a lump, but the wing's in a whole different league :rolleyes:
Only bought it 'cos Pam didn't like the pillion on the Z1300-6 - Touring, it replaced .. never thought I'd ever buy a Wing, but it grows on you :rolleyes::giggle:

God awful colour, but a hell of a ride -- bitterly regret parting with this (yet again) - has quadrupled in value since :cry::mad: ... an absolutely mint Californian import
