Could have been the egr cooler, if fits under warranty let them crack on, if it's not an elbow, blanking plate and remap would bypass itMy ranger had a little tiny coolant leak at around 4k miles, as in a 10p sized droplet after leaving it on a polished concrete floor all day.
Booked it in with ford's, asked if there was a service due soon while it was there, they looked at me head had come off

Having looked at the 110 defender hardtop there is around 10k plus vat with couple of options ticked Vs a wildtrack with a couple of options ticked.
At least the hardtop gets £320 ved vs the 1500-2200 of the car.
Could always retrofit some seats and bulkhead

Always wondered what adding seats to a commercial does to insurance? Surely whole lot is void if not declared…? Only takes a keen insurance assessor!
The ideal is a 130 commercial defender with 5 seats and then full bulkhead & decent load area! They are just humongous!!

I doubt you would get insurance as not factory fit

I tried digging into it for a D5 but gave up. The answers the seat installer folk gave were vague at best . Just didn't bother risking it. FFS if insurance can wriggle out of a paperwork cockup wtf would they do with one of those installs. No thanks

My thoughts too, I need the loadspace more than seats anyway, pickup seats folded up in the back 90% of the time anyway!

Have you done the elbow and blanking plate ? looks a crap job for access , my EGR has been mapped out but would like to blank and bypass the cooler also.

Could have been, took the Ford dealer over 2 weeks to get the part! They wanted to keep it in their car park until the part came in

This is a nonsense for many users. Whilst I am sure some pick ups are dual purpose. This is an unjust change which will now destroy values of these vehicles.
