New Bobcat Micro

Having tidied up and used a micro digger I bought from the forum host ( cheers @Regy53 )last year, I decided to treat myself to a bit better/newer machine. I’d been watching a few online here and there but timing wasn’t quite right. Now with end of tax year coming up I was passing my local bobcat dealer yesterday so called in to see if they had anything in my budget. As nice as a brand new one is I just don’t have the budget/work for it so have pushed the button on this used 2015 model. They’re going to service it, replace the broken bonnet catch and find some blade extensions ready for me to collect it In a couple of weeks Will probably repaint the dipper myself just to smarten it up.

Not sure if you're aware, but I put mine on finance and even on finance you can still claim the whole value as a first year tax capital allowance if you choose to. So even though I've only paid about £2k of mine off, it's saved me 13k worth of tax this year.

When I was looking used were not far off new money. Resale on them is very high

7950 plus vat. It’s done a thousand hours, but pretty tight on all the pins. It won’t be used a mega amount so in theory it will balance out over the next few years. Right or wrong I’m not a fan of finance, just like to own stuff then it can be easily sold if need be.

Youll not go wrong with the bobcat.

I wouldnt worry about the blade extensions as they are the crapiest idea ever and bung up then you cant get them open.

That’s right, had it nearly a year now, it hasn’t done much but it earns its keep. They were offering 0% finance at the time so made sense at the time for me to buy new. The way I see it if it makes enough to cover the payments by the time it’s paid off whatever it’s worth at the end is a bonus. Not to mention the time it saves, a lot of the time I would be hand digging rather than hiring a machine to do a couple of hours work.

That's how I see it too. Been out on mine today as it happens, had an enquiry for another micro job this evening but I reckon he's a messer.

Best thing is just keep them off when you dont need them and put them on when you do.

Mine stay on all the time at the widest position, only moved them in a handful of times but it's a pain. The takeuchi style ones are better

Well picked this up this morning .

Jobs to do: tidy up paintwork on dipper, get some teeth for the smallest bucket and possibly buy a few more variations. Dealer didnt get the blade extensions sorted so they’re being posted out next week.

Looks good. I much prefer the micros with the proper leavers rather than the long sticks.
