Mobile pressure washers

Need a mobile pressure washer to clean up on jobs, want diesel/petrol so can drop 2 ibc on trailer and use it as mobile setup so suction required.

Have one of the cheap Honda ones like this, no good though, crap lance and through put.

we’ve got two karcher hds 10s in barn and garage and they are great but don’t move around well with plastic covers etc strapping down and 240v

put they spoil you for using much else.

after recommendations not stupid money either interpump ones seem good seen this but he won’t pallet it.

that ebay one looks a similar pump to the one I have on a diesel Hodna ....... which is an awesome washer ... summat like 3500psi and 15ltr/m .... not a lot sticks with that played on it ...... can't recall the make ... will try and have a look later, but it has had a few mentions somewhere before

Get a 13hp or more one. You shouldn't be contemplating anything less, otherwise you might as well piss on it.

Less pressure, more flow is what you want- so a 13hp engine with a 21l/min pump would be perfect. That eBay one, 11l/min at 5HP would be similar to my steam cleaner- not really enough flow/pressure to do the job efficiently if we're talking cleaning mud off. 15l/m at 13hp is OK, I have a petrol one at that spec.

The most cost effective soloution is Chinese honda, decent pump- so Interpump or AR. I'd be wary of the Draper type with a no-name pump, but the Loncin engines are proven.

I've had to rebuild pumps on both my steam cleaner and petrol pressure washer. Not a big job, but it helps if you can get parts for them!

No, that's very low pressure. Small petrol engines are more powerful than their small diesel equivalents.

I bought one of these second hand, but this is a good price for the spec new:

Or you could drop to 3000PSI and up the litres a min to 21.

Either way, you need power, and 6.5hp just won't cut it.

I don't think you need to go as far as 13hp unless you're cleaning tracks out on a 20 tonner on a regular basis. I've a donkeys years old honda 8hp pressure washer and its well up to the job as far as I'm concerned. Don't go cheap unbrand as it'll be chinese litres and psi. Lance and nozzles are as much to do with the job as owt else.

Needs to be able to draw its own water up whatever you get makes it so much handier. I often use mine off hosepipe but via a barrel as hose can't keep up but with barrel as extra storage works a treat. Can also pull water from a stream if washing off on site.

I've got a gx160 powered one with a Italian pump of some sort. It's hard work trying to remove thick mud or clay so Im looking to upgrade to a gx 390 sized pump when I can.
That is unless I can figure out how to change the governor on a gx240 I have on the shelf.

Just remember that you are trying to remove the mud, not strip the paint. Litres are more important than psi.

13hp is bottom of the range in terms of professional cleaning equipment. You won’t need an IBC to feed anything less, let alone the two Giles is planning on.

If the ibc’s will always be on a trailer then you’ll always have gravity feed to the pump too. But the decent brands tend to be able to suck if required.

I'd disagree there Doob ..... the 9 horse Hodna on my Nova puts out enough to knock Pam off her feet and 15lt/m is a lot of wasser .... hose won't keep up with it ... I feed an IBC and it sucks it up from there ..... from full, can generally get about 3 hrs, before the Nova has emptied the IBC, faster than the hose can replenish it/keep up with it ...

sadly not, but it's taken her by surprise a few times, when she's pulled the trigger without considering she's not holding the little karcher patio type washer .... it has quite a kick

Sounds like you lot need better hosepipes bit I'm too used to living on a pig farm where every tap is a proper 3/4' bore and fils a bucket in seconds

and mains water probably ...... our spring is a gallon a minute ..... winter / spring / summer ..... end of .... we have a pumped system at the house which'll significantly increase the flow from the storage tanks, but that spring'll only fill the tanks at ........... a gallon a minute ...... so I use the IBCs, gravity fed, to avoid emptying the storage tanks and having no water for the house
