Its only ever for a few posts in a garden. Start them right and hope for no stones. Like a digger, if it does start to go well off you'd need to go and push or pull it from the right side.

The Poles I employed years ago, you couldn't ask for better workers. Mind you, they could buy a house back home with five years of minimum wage here, so that had a lot to do with it I suspect. Nowadays most of them have gone home. They are a lot harder to find now, and no matter how hard they work they still wouldn't fill that skip in an hour and a half!
I'd sooner employ one or two smart people and make up the shortfall of grunts (whether Polish or English) with machinery that I will one day own outright.

We only employ the ones who are here. So far we’ve never found a lazy Pole or Lithuanian. The idle Brits manage to get here for an interview, though.

Loads of 'proper' tree surgeons I know (with tickets and everything!) use a set of ladders to get halfway up the tree. It's common practice and certainly much quicker for just setting a rope.Brilliant lil thing...I've been offered a skidster cheap I'm tempted...
