Mini excavator security

Hello all,
I'm taking delivery of a micro machine this week, a Kuboto K008-3.
Unfortunately I've previously been badly burnt by theft and I'm keen not to repeat that experience.
What security measure would people recommend. So far I've read the following in past thread:
  • Secret hidden switches: Can anyone point me in the direction of a youtube tutorial to install this.
  • A tracker by a company called Automatrics. I'm interest in this, these appear to be highly rated however all stock seem to be sold out on their website. Does anyone know if they are still in business? That also raises the issue with investing in a subscription services; if the provider seeses trading so does the service. *Not at all suggesting Automatrics are no longer in business, I am going to give them a call in the morning and will report back.
  • Sleep in the machine myself. I'm married so at times this is enticing.
  • Make wife sleep in machine. Also enticing.
Anyway appreciate your advice.

Secret switches and you won't find videos on how to do it for obvious reasons.

If your not overly confident then have a word with a local plant fitter or auto electrician

Also consider visable derterants, to try and deter them and not get to the stage of needing the tracker, track locks, ram locks, heavy chain to something, they moght just go and look at someone elses machine.

Wouldn’t recommend track locks, I’ve seen the damage they do, the trouble with something that small is they can get lifted by a grab or hiab!

What about the ram lock on the blade?? Obviously have to still park out of hiab range

I never leave my Volvo mini digger on site.at home every night in locked shed.never more than 10 miles away so not too bad for peace of mind.trackers and locks are ok but won’t stop the scumbags with a hiab on a flat bed

I think track locks serve well in most instances!!
Keep pad immobilization will drive you mad if you are in and out of the machine working.
Trackers are great to help find it if they haven’t found the tracker before you find them!!
What was the one that @Gunners used. I seem to think they are activated if the machine is stolen so makes it harder to locate where they are hidden!!

I read somewhere that a chap had fitted a deadman type of switch thru his fag lighter, you had to put the correct item in fag lighter for it to power up ,
same as the dummy Hellas ... look like a power socket but without a suitable 'key' plug, everything's open circuit ;)
Is it worth moving this thread to the back room?
and yes I think this should be away from public view too, LL (y)
