Mini digger rate

Hey, just looking for some advise and guidance. I’m a digger driver and need to know the going rate per day? I’ve been an operator for 3 years for my employer but looking to earn an extra few quid doing weekend work for now. Can’t afford a digger at the min but saving to purchase one. Any advise would be appreciated.
So you want to know how much you can charge as an operator on someone else’s machine at weekends?
On the books or CIS or cash?

Probably not alot more than your getting paid now and maybe less but with all the risks if something goes wrong, plant hire can be a race to the bottom
If you have cheap access and transport of digger you might be in luck, otherwise the reality is, you'll be too expensive and working for less than your day job.

No idea what hire charges are like but would imagine a 1-1.5t mini digger would be at least £200 for a weekend with delivery/collection plus vat.

Problem is too many people willing to race to the bottom and out for £250 a day, you'll be way too expensive for a single day and to do both days £500 soon becomes £235 by the time you take £240 hire charge and another £25 for diesel

You'd have to ring around locally and get prices to see what you'll be competing against to see if it works for you

You are absolutely right. I am trying to get as much info as possible and broaden my options. Not only operating a mini digger. However, I can also do patios and drives (flags, modular blocks and tarmac). The estimations you noted above are
realistic. However, I suppose to build the purse I could also offer additional services. Thanks for your help lads
