Mini digger hydraulic quick hitch for Kubota KX27-4, Martin MH03

Hi, I’ve recently purchased a second hand Kubota KX27-4 for some ground works at home. I’m new to all this, so learning as I go along. I’ve discovered that the standard buckets for this machine don’t fit as its been fitted with a Martin MH03 hydraulic quick hitch.

The Martin website advertises this hitch for 3 ton machines, but the buckets I’m finding seem to be limited and are often only for 1.5 ton machines.
I’ve a number of questions I’m hoping you can help with:
1) Is the Martin MH03 hydraulic quick hitch any good?
2) Why would you fit this rather than one that is the standard size for the machine?
3) As most websites advertise attachments (buckets, etc) by machine type, where is best to find MH03 fittings as many of the website don’t allow this search?
4) Why am I finding the sizes are limited to 1.5 ton machines (Rhinox buckets are a good example)?

Thanks for your help!

if the pins're loose in the buckets, go old school .. cap the hyd lines and take the hitch off- then pin the buckets on .. quick enough to change on a small machine like that .. will give you time to find a decent hitch to replace it with and flog off the hitch and sub-size buckets ;)

Do you have the dimensions?
I have a Martin hitch with 35mm bucket pins (30mm on the machine end) on my Takeuchi 217r, took the measurements to Capital Plant Solutions in Welwyn Garden City near me. They identified it as a 'Morris Leslie spec' hitch and sorted me out 3 very nice buckets to suit at £100 each.
They have 100s of second hand buckets in stock, all very well catalogued by machine AND pin dimensions, well worth a call, I'm sure they'll have something suitable for less than new🤞👍

It will be an ex morris Leslie machine. They use Martin style hitches.

Finding second hand buckets will be a nightmare, but most bucket manufacturers will make them for you.

Strickland make them for ML so id start there

could also try BMC in Chepstow if you're going to have them made to your spec. ...... very good at producing exactly what you want and well priced
