Micro Pecker.

This question has been asked before I’m sure- and I have been referred to Dr Pecker (Nigel?) about augers recently-but can’t find the messages. Can’t seem to find in searches either. Need/want a pecker for the E10 but would like to future proof myself and make sure it’s big enough for any towable machine. Local (ish) place suggest Arrowhead R40 for about £2550+

Thoughts appreciated and apologies for rehashing old ground.

You need a micro pecker for the E10, this will also cover a 2t machine but a 2.7t machine would be too much for it I'm afraid. Anything that will fit the 2.7t will be a nightmare on an E10. Don't fall into that trap, especially as you mainly use the E10.

You won't get better than a Rammer 111 for the E10 and 2t machine. I do sometimes use mine for delicate works on the E27 but only at low revs/flow- you'd blow it up otherwise.

Any recommendations for suppliers for rammer 111?

Get one to suit a 1.5t machine, run the revs accordingly on a larger machine..... Weight wise it will be heavy on a micro but not unmanageable.

Fyi we run 1.5t peckers on 7t machines when I need significant heath Robinson reach... Same with augers.

Ps. I thought this thread was about something else.....

Tried Nigel @Dr pecker or Paul Peacock in Kingstone https://www.hydraulicbreaker.co.uk/ ... think a couple of people here have used Paul of late and had good prices ... Equally Nigel has a great reputation
Paul has quoted me a good price (I think) for a reconditioned 111 with a pair of chisels and delivery. About £1100+vat cheaper than a new unit. Doubt I'll use it for more than a couple days a year so seems a sensible choice.

Having started out with a breaker that technically would fit 1.1 to 2.7t as per the epiroc, you’ve made the right choice by going for the baby Rammer.

Using anything other than a baby hammer on a micro is pure misery. Accurate placement beats a larger hammer for overall speed in my experience with micros.

No, that it’s acceptable practice to share a pecker between three mounts!

I have a little pecker :). Paul Peacock has furnished me with a refurb Rammer 111 at sensible cost. Quick turn around and it fits! Had to tighten up the hoses but otherwise seems AOK. It’s got a lot of pecking to do this weekend so will be well trialled.
