Friend of mine did a oil contamination job was about 3T of type 1 left over and he said to the consultant ill bring the tipper tomorrow and take it away for you free of charge.

That would be ideal but can i see your waste carriers licence?
Its clean 803 left over from this job?
Yeah it is, but as your taking it away its now classed as waste

Technically they are right, I do a fair bit of oil dig outs.
For the £154 or so every 3 years, it costs for a waste carriers license it's just not worth the hassle of not having one. Even if you order a skip you still need it.
Even having your wrappers from your dinner in the van can land you with a substantial fine.

if only the pikeys obeyed these permit rules, wonder how many spot checks these Caravan Using Nomadic Travellers get.

As a small sole trader operator have to do private work a lot of the time. It’s a question of using yer communication skills in a humorous way. Self deprecation often helps 😅
As Rory says let them think you are doing them a favour with the extras. My 2 tonne tipper is great for dealing with spoil from local small dig outs and adds to my stock of dirt. Win win 😜
There again big builders and civils can f**k you about with getting money out of them 🤬
Have got a nice stack of new and used ply here ready to go.
Have been on the Customer Care Training Course 🤠
At the end of the day you choose the jobs you wanna do and walk away from the rest 😎
Why do you want a stockpile of dirt?

He does'nt need a Permit. Only a S2

Rules are also changing and becoming more free..... can get away with murder in a yard as a builder with the new NWDF's.... https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/waste-exemptions-storing-waste
Builder local to me literally has a good 100m2+ of yard that's just one big dumping ground, full to the brim with crap, not even usable stuff.

Why do you want a stockpile of dirt?
Maybe screening in bulk and selling off

I think you are still supposed to apply for the S2 exemption if you are moving it from site to store in your yard and you are not supposed to process it in the yard without a licence.
You can't move it without a license for a start off.
