Had a 24k Inc vat debt about 12 Yr ago, 3 Yr later went to court cost hearing the 2 who owed didn't turn up.
They have a week or two to pay the bill before it being recorded

Mine was crap, judge was clueless and wouldn't use the qs costs as they hadn't been to the site, qs costing was way over what my price was, didn't get what I should have but wasn't out of pocketYes they would have. I’m at the point of taking him to court but I just know he’ll try everything to avoid paying and somehow turn a legitimate debt back to cost me even more money. Mediation isn’t going to sort anything
...... still a few about they 'enjoy' their work and you can take satisfaction knowing the twat'll never be free of 'em 'til he's squared up whatever they're demanding - plus their level of interest What Missed me off I had evidence from the girl saying she owed nothing then had subsequent offers from her solicitor I think 3 different offers 7k the biggest.
Start the small claims chain of letters, get everything you have together, any signed agreements will go massively in your favour. Mediation isnt great but once it gets that far it's better to do it. Mine was a waste of time it's just a middleman who calls each person individually a couple of times or so. In my experience judges and making sense don't go hand in hand
Sadly nothing in writing. Ive got a text message acknowledging the debt and that I “just had to wait while he moved some money around”. Months and months of promises of payment that never materialised. Tried a debt collection company but got the impression they saw no chance of getting anything. He owes it personally as told me to invoice him, but has all business tied up in ltd company and his wife owns the house they live in. No assets that i can find.
