Few jobs done over the last few weeks with the 8026 and dx10. Latest being footings at the house which was a combination of the two and the two tracked dumpers for a little bit. Glad to see this one with concrete in, between 2- 2.5m deep and sand and gravel for a lot of it

What’s the blue edge on the boards?
No idea, just the plywood that local supplier gets must be type for easy identification, they don't last well when wet as they delaminate quite quick within a couple of jobs if used for boarding out for grabs

local merchants told me months ago that sheathing (shuttering) ply is no longer WBP and water based adhesive bond ... delaminates real quick

Back on a retaining wall, brought in the 8026 as getting a little awkward with the dx10, not that larger has helped too much each have their own little issues. Not often all the kit is off the trailers at the same place.
Got an annoying issue with the radio seems to just randomly save all stations as radio 2 🤔 it might be trying to tell me all the radio 1 djs I know of are now on there or that I'm hitting that age to transition to radio 2.
Originally thought it was something to do with the isolator being out when left but seems to not be the case. Set radio station save to one of the 6 presets, switch off move dumpers and get back in and it's 50/50 if it will still be on the same radio station or changed and saved to radio 2. I'm definitely saving the station as can select and change between presets. Have pressed the reset button so will see what tomorrow brings

They could do with replacing the render on that dormer 😁
And how long before you catch the telephone cable at the front door 🤞

Just squeezes under with the two beacons on, although depending where end up on the drive still have to occasionally lift them over. When I was originally there couple of years ago, had to use a broom to raise the cable to get the welfare unit under it. There's another two further up, first job was to trim some branches and got over a foot more clearance so a grab wagon can get under it.

Can I ask, as somone who uses a micro dumper quite a bit, which one you prefer out of the jcb and the cormidi?

Edit* very jealous of your 8026!! Looks a good machine, might get something in that weight/class as my next big investment👍

Hands down the JCB, it lifts higher, can get more in the skip and very rare anything stays in the skip, only tends to be the odd bit of wet clay. But it's let down by tracking power. Mine was new in 2017, so is starting to show it's age but it has literally shifted 2000+ ton. It's still on the original tracks with way over 50% left (probably 75% or more) issue wise it did have a valve block at a few months old, 2 accelerator cables (soldered ends fell off), I've recently had to temp fix the stop wire as the end fell off, and the pullstart housing has threaded the bolts loose (only ever pull started it once to try it) one track motor hose, as it was rubbing on the frame and a starter motor as some numpty left the key in the start position while they went off.

To be fair the cormidi is old (2008) and ex hire, so it's had a hard life. Since I've had it, it's had new battery, starter motor and stator, it needs new front idlers that no one seems to make or have specs, not sure if the pump is getting weak and tracks starting to get slick.
It does not empty the skip without having to track forward and back quickly to shake the skip, it's very rare it ever discharges the whole load and even then there's still the odd small bit in it, doesn't raise the skip or tili anywhere near as fast as the JCB either. One thing that is excellent on it, is the tracking power. Revs have been turned up a bit first gear is just a bit slower than the 2nd gear of the JCB and the 2nd gear is a decent walking pace. A newer more looked after one might be a different story but out the cormidi is generally only used if need to run two of them

If you could combine the track power/speed of the cormidi and the rest of the JCB it would be excellent.

I think used they are about the same price but new, the diesel JCB is cheaper than the petrol c50. Think the JCB is on the cheaper end of the market

Apparently the slanetrac is meant to be excellent and a 1t payload but it's over 10k and quite big, they now do a pup version which is a bit smaller with a 750kg capacity but still not far off 10k

The 8026 has been great but a few niggles, had the front black part near window repainted and another patch has come off 🙄 the main issue is weight its a fair bit over 2.6t

Not updated for a while, concrete and retaining wall in now waiting for 28 days before backfilling unless engineer comes back saying otherwise. Managed to get out in the micro for a couple of jobs, a little levelling out an area for a shed and reducing ground for a garage to be re damp proofed although dig out is to bottom of concrete and looks like it's built on made up ground pics are deceiving as it's around 1.5m from bottom of concrete to grass height, also the Mezzanine floor is finished

Recently installed a couple of waste treatment plants one had all the surrounding ground built up to suit and the other wasn't too bad, but bad ground resulted in a very big hole. Back on the retaining wall job to install a soakaway and start backfilling
