Hi all

Has anyone got the Makita EK6100? Are they any good? On paper it seems to stack up pretty well against the Stihl 410 but have heard it’s not as easy to work in when the time comes

Can't say about the current model but a mate had an earlier model a few years ago and it was a good tool. Nothing to choose between that or a stihl at the time. It was more than up to the task of cutting general building materials and I could get the cuts just as accurate. ☺

Go get one, had one 18 months, my second makita, first one lasted 10 years and was second hand when I bought it. Must have been through 12 sthils in that time, can't keep them in one piece, they never seem easy to start and I've had ones that wouldn't start when warm. The makita is a different machine, I can start the current no matter what the wether hot cold or anything usually with two pulls. It's a disc cutter it's never gonna be glamorous but out of all of them I've found makitas easiest to live with.

I have had a makita and it was a good saw - now have a husqvarna and I like either of those better than the Stihls ive had.

Yes I thought the same thing. Spoke to a bricky st work yesterday who was very positive about them.

I guess makita are running the 4 stroke alongside the 2 stroke range in case it doesn't work out as they hoped?
