Looking for some assistance

Bought an artic unit at auction down at Hemel Hempstead. Was planning to drive it home to Scotland but she needs an MOT first.
Anyone know any good companies the area?
Someone who's not going to rip me off cause I'm the other side of the country

I've seen a lowloader I'd like so would tow it up the road as well
Its a 2016 scania with under 300k. Was working and motd till last week so I'd like to think she wouldn't take much to pass

It does and it doesn't. TBH your best bet really is someone with trade plates. I'd not want to MOT a truck far from home incase they stick a GV9 on it.

Our local lads would give me trade plates but that only covers tax and insurance. Not mot apparently

Trade plates only cover tax and that's only whilst in movement. Ie you can't park at side of road and leave plates on to act as tax.

Up til recently you never got a specific insurance cert for the plates (it was usually part of your trade insurance cert) and they are now listed on the MID aswell.

Also lending them to your mates is a No No.

I'd be lucky 24hrs a day now at the proper depot's. Although funnily enough they never seem as busy when it's raining

Unfortunate any vehicle you own can give you marks on your o license. A large agri contractor that runs 4 straw lorries had his o license suspended after a problem with one of his tractors on grain cart.

But if it's stopped without m o t and they deem it to be required and that you are on a scam driving to a test center miles away. They then also open up the problem that they will deem your insurance to be void and driving with no insurance. Then they will just make your life hard.
