Could you not opt for double flip ramps
Still gives a flat bed when folded but less going on under the bed so should make it lighter
Plus supposedly the most fuel efficient setup. I know someone who swapped his low loaders from single fold ramps to double and saved 1-2mpg

When mine is flat, it is a near perfect flat deck, the ramps hydraulically slide out from under the deck, a cheese wedge/double fold ramps are heavier, but probably a slightly better option if solely doing plant work.
