any garage that doesn't fully insure a demo is a cowboy -- as a customer taking a vehicle out on demo, it's more than reasonable to expect their cover whilst at the wheel, other wise they should take you out as a passenger - simples

Landrover used to be well relaxed...here take the keys etc...had all sorts over the years I'd have just refused to pay any excess and as for the fella who wrote off the demo one ....who honestly believes it wasn't insured? They'd never let you out without some kind of cover note surely? Id have fought that one ...hardly gonna sue you are they?
VW wanted £20 for a courtesy van this week...politely told to foxtrot Oscar.

Local Isuzu dealer made me insure their courtesy pickup when mine went in for warranty work, which I thought was a bit of a piss take tbh!

well they're not duty bound to supply 'courtesy' vehicles .. just became an expected 'perk'/fad to gain custom originally ... was usually the realm of insured repairs only
