Leaving a machine on site?

Ive got a job where I could do with leaving my micro and track dumper on as its a total ball ache for trailer access/parking. Ive never left my machines on site before. What sort of security measures do you take?
The site has arris fencing across the front and machines are out of view from the main road.

yes but a new build so nobody is living there.

Take the rams and tracks off each night then no one can move it!
Seriously my mate lives over there I thought the crime rate was fairly low, Anyone on here use those ram locks,

A few years back someone i knew had a mini digger with a tracker on it The machine got nicked and the tracker didnt work, Whoever it was that nicked it got the digger home and blasted the old paint off then repainted it whilst doing this the found two stray wires which they repaired and soldered back up, It just happened to be the broken tracker wiring which started to work and before they knew it they had a visit from the boys in blue! And my mate got a nicly painted digger back.

Pull the starter relay out, small things like this take no time for you but cost them time which is what they don't like.

Chain through the track sprocket and whatever else you can reach puts off the kids who want to play and the non-proffesional plant thieves. That buys you a couple of nights, anymore and if your kit is worth having it'll be gone.

Mines insured new for old (only if bought new though) Currently parked on a bit of waste ground at the end of my garage in full view. Cmon - someone pinch it and do me a favour , I could use the money

Okay for bigger stuff. Anyone with a semi decent hiab and a 7.5tonner can take mine. To be fair a keen pikey with a transit and hiab could probably get it away.

Park with boom on offset, body cockeyed and blade in general direction of arm.

Unless you can start it and get it rigged right you'll struggle to lift a micro with a small hiab if it's parked in a prockish fashion

Why bother renting a 20fter, just hire someone else's machine and leave that on site.

Yep I've done all the fuses before now Inc the fuse cover

The fibre crews working locally leave the diggers chained up to the trailer at the side of the road round here!

As said, pull as many things out as you can remember to put back onto it in the morning .
Local digger hire guy drops his micros onto verges etc the night before - key probably under the seat

I used "their" insurance once.
Read the insurance.....covered the used value of the machine only .......
.. Read the hire contract which required the machine to be covered new for old at recommended retail plus loss of hire until replacement in fleet
