Ah I can show this my Mrs now who always goes ape at me when I slow down for the random signs that show an error speed like yours obviously had.. bloody things! They’ll never admit they were at fault for such errors will they?!

I’m afraid most of traffic that I‘ve encountered in Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire would have failed their own “attitude test”. I‘ve had to put up with a few too many random stops to look kindly back at the past, none of which resulted in convictions, and were obviously just fishing trips. It’s also interesting, when you challenge them about the stop, how quickly they get the arse about having their time wasted.Hey Shaun, agree with yer sentiments in principle buddy

In my time I was a "Road Death Scene Manager" - what that meant is that when on duty I went to most FATAL and SERIOUS INJURY collisions in Essex.
When my team wasn't dealing with DEATH and DESTRUCTION we tried to prevent it.
The most satisfying was giving the answers to the bereaved families as to WHY their loved ones were killed.
AND locking up the complete fcukwits on the roads
BUT back on topic yes in those days we had bucket fulls of discretion to deal fairly with this that passed the 'attitude test'
Those that didn't were dealt with fairly and invariably went to Court
