Boys, boys boys,

Both the Kubota and Takeuchi cant really be compared fairly as the Kubota has a much shorter back end than the Takeuchi. I spent a good few weeks in a brand new mono boom Kx080-4a (the so called improved version) and I agree with Rory, there are better machines out there. The aircon fan is really noisy and right by your head. Poor flow sharing when tracking, noddy even with the mono boom, and no Netflix in the cab!
Drove a Tak 175 as a boy (yes they are that old!) and I can see why they are still highly regarded today. Not driven the 290 but with its proper tail, its likely to be very stable.

Either way both your machines have poor lifting ability for their weight. I can pick up 1t with a 2.8t digger. As a percentage of how much it weighs, I'd say thats very good going and a much better ratio than any 8t I know!

To be fair neither are zero swing so if you're looking at 8/9 ton class they are comparable.

I am not overly familiar with the 290, so I checked the spec sheets (how sad am I on a Saturday night).
TB290 has a tail swing radius of 1650.
KX080-4a2 has a tail swing radius of 1460.

You are correct that neither are zero swing, I thought the Kubota had a very compact rear and it would appear that is the case.
In the competition of who can lift the biggest rock, you have the advantage Gaz. But do you have the tenacity of the man who speaketh funny from the shire of cream tea drinkers?

I'm here all night, not a lot more to do in lockdown. 😁

did a quick paper comparison between the KX 060 and the TB260. The taki has significantly better hydraulics, especially the aux flow 36% more flow.

It is like the taki was designed to just pip it across the board then make sure something stands out!!
I am curious as to what the other size machines pump out as if you can’t run the correct size attachments it is pretty pointless.
