I don't think that's the tab making it light there overly strong for there stability as standard

I wouldn't say the standard boom is particularly powerful
It's light yes stability is about what you would expect Though
Definitely not the heavy lifter of the weight category

The hitachi will pick up 3 if you ignore the lift chart I think jcb is similar and I'm sure the tekuchi must be quite good with full tail swing
I said by weight class as the hitachi is physically bigger and a tonne heavier

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better

It's all nonsense though in the real world. It's OK saying an 8 tonner can lift 3 ton if it's all tucked up against the blade but what can it do with it. In the real world you need to be able to pick something up and turn round with it or stretch out and place it somewhere.

Right, let me explain why the TAB on a 8t kubota KX080 is f****ng horrific.

It's likely a good 250-300kg heavier, couple this with a tilt bucket and it just doesn't flow right.

If your going to worry about versatility and ability on a sub 10t machine, go get a go on a mecalac MCR.... gamechanger.

I'm sure when i looked 8 ton kub with tab is over 600kg heavier than mono boom. My taki is only 300kg more and 200kg of that is added onto the counterweight. Mine is actually a lot better planted and stable than mono boom 290. I guess the kub has the weight share wrong.
Only trouble with mecalac you can probably buy an 8 tonner all singing and dancing with tilty for less.

You could well be right. I ain't got the specs but the kubota 3 piece is f****ng heavy.

Mecalac rule of thumb.... a X ton Mecalac MCR is the price of a standard excavator X + 2 Tons. So a Six tonner is the same price as a 8 tonner... 8 tonner price of a 10/11t machine etc. But by f**k they are incredible.

Bit specialist though the mecs i think. If you want a versatile tool carrier with digger ability they are in their own class. But if you predominantly want a digger i think they are a bit compromised

Having used one I disagree. But you have to use the arm as one with all functions working for it to flow right.... you can't just set it and use it like a conventional machine with a 3 piece.

Can't argue as i haven't used one but from anything I've seen they seem short on reach without using in face shovel style and the arm geometry seems too focused on handling attachments rather than digging.
Your prices seem about right for what i was saying re equivalent machine and tilty

can't see why anyone'd have a VA and not use it as an integral part of the motion ..... e.g. grade from full stretch to under the chassis in one smooth movement .... that extra pivot is there to make life easier

It's why I'll say they no good on a hire machine got to be somebody of use on them cos if you try and operate my taki without using tab it's as numb as f**k.

You try doing that with a Kubota VA and you will earn the name Eeyore.

I can drive most things but KX080's 🤮
