Hi folk,

my 12 month old 150 hr u17 has been very useful, but isn’t earning its keep. I am thinking of moving it on, but wonder what sort of hit to expect. I am assuming that my hydraulic hitch, my grapple and riddle bucket won’t add to its value. With the hydraulic hitch I paid around £20k plus vat.
I am thinking maybe of trading down to a 1 toner, u10/e10 to do useful stuff in the garden, but maybe best to hire one in when needed.

What’s the received wisdom?

cheers!

I suspected as much. I looked at sold prices at Euro Auctions and some very good bargains on u17s were to be had - some with demo hours on.

Hire it out ? Not that many hire places just where you are?
Sit tight if you don't need the dough and you can keep it safe?
It's a buyers market... But like everything I think it'll come back ☺️

Keep it and use it instead of the 1 tonner (as they are crap in comparison).

What are your issues with it?
I seem to be in the minority but for me

Slew is horrible - if your looking to slew a tiny bit at reach then its crap wagging about - jcb 8014 was miles better in this respect -work light in way can't see bucket at times - seems noisy af to me - nowhere for grease gun or hitch bar - topped off with a crappy whites hitch.

Paint is good - reliable - digs hard enough - canopy easy to remove

l’m with you on the wagging. I tend to knock the power back to minimise it. Not a major bugbear for me.
100% with you on nowhere to put the grease gun - wouldn’t have been rocket science to add a clip somewhere.

Alot of modern 1.8t machines seem to have that vague slew thing going on. My tak 216 is a bit like it so is the Yanmar SV19. You do get used to it once your on them for a while but always a shock when coming from another machine
