Komatsu pc40-3 odd sound anyone know what it is ?

Hello

I have just got a komatsu pc40-3 4.5 ton digger .

I looked at it and used it in the yard before buying was fine and the toke a few weeks to get it delivered.

I now have it at last and it wouldn’t start was advised by the seller to check the starter motor wire as when it came to them they had an issue as well did and it started I used it for twenty mins and then it lost power and died .

now it turns over but won’t start and what I think is the fuel pump is making an continuous odd sound even when just turned on and now started

Electric fuel pumps will run if the ignition is on. Kind of a pulsing, burbling sound? it's basically a 12v diaphragm pump.

Loosing power sounds like fuel starvation. Check the filters, and check the hoses for air leaks etc. Looks like it's been bodged with garden hose which is prone to going hard and letting air in at joints. However, with an electric lift pump I would expect it to at least splutter a bit. Any leaks letting air in will be 'downstream' from the pump, as if they were upstream there would be diesel being pumped out.

Also try blowing back down the pipe into the tank in case it's sucked up a bit of s**t and blocked the pipe.

If it's fuel starvation it won't be too had to sort, and you can do it all properly this time!

that looks like clear braided fuel line to me Doob .... but as said it does go hard and allow air to pass - sometimes .....

No came from Lancashire company .
Have a now pump coming and pipe so will change the lot in one go see how it works

Yeah but drained out the old and put in fresh but didn’t do anything
