Congrats. I have never bought a blue kobelco have had a couple of Case minis and used to sell them new, always thought they were pretty basic but defo did the job as sold many to friends and customers afar. Looks lovely

I ran a fixed boom Ex60 for many many years and I seem to think (all though not checked charts) that they are more balanced and lift better!! I might be on here Monday with the digger on its side saying that theory was wrong!!

You could be right, I do find the Komatsu 210-5 lifts quite abit better than the Takeuchi's. That said the little Kobelco SR20 is the king of the heavy lifts

Well it has landed. Spent a couple of hours on it today just stripping a bit of soil and levelling some stone. It has been a while since I drove this size machine and I after being on a 3tonner for the last couple of years it feels enormous. First impression is that it is very smooth and well balanced. Site is a bit wet so making an effort to lift the tracks as compared to the little one it feels a bit stuck if you try to spin around on the spot. Biggest problem.......no matter how hard I use my thumbs that bucket don’t spin!!!!

Apparently the last operator left the seat belt plugged in so it can stay for the moment.

I think the bigger bucket and reach soon removed any concerns. The 3 tonner is very nimble and will work in spaces this won’t. I think they will complement themselves on the site.

Only think I am trying to work out at the moment is there is some sort of alarm that beeps just at full reach which flashes a warning triangle on the screen. Pull the dippper in and it stops. I haven’t got an operators manual yet so anyone had any experience with this?

Could it be a safe load indicator? Might be a switch somewhere.

Is there a lifting setting or button in the cab

Yep - that's what we do ... most jobs have 8t and 3t/1.5t there for the fiddly stuff - perfect example is one gets left at heap of aggregates or whatever to minimize tramping about

We have a kobelco /new Holland E70sr bought new in 2007. It’s one of the best machines we’ve had and never given any bother, very powerful, sits on 600 steels and floats across the softest of ground with ease. Fabulous machine and I suspect it will stay here until it dies. I’m sure your new Kobelco will have a few extra bells and whistles compared to our old girl and will serve you well.
There is a switch on ours for lifting but never use it as even an empty bucket at full reach sets it off. No way of calibrating it. Sounds like you may need to chop a wire!
