right then guys, cut the track off, slid the idler out and basically the tube with the nut head behind the inspection plate is the manual tensioner, 17mm on it and plenty of wd37 and a half and undid the damn thing but bashing the socket arm down with my foot, took ages, anyway slackened it enough to get my new track over it, a genuine yanmar track one of two, which i got from a supplier in devon at a not bad price to be fair, anyway here's some pics for your amusement, now to retension the blasted thing oooohhhh.

Hey why I can't see the threads in your photo? Or is it just so dirty and rusty? Mine has clearly outside threads. I just bought new track for mine. I sprayed lubrication here. So to get it loose I just need to turn this nut anti clock wise?
