Knee pads

I'm starting to get knee pain if crawling about on hard floors. Combination of getting old and fat I guess. Anyway, does anyone have suggestions for good knee pads. Don't like the ones that fit in some trousers as they never seem to be in the right place.

got a set of leather ones with felt pad backings ..... comfy whilst down ... PITA when standing .. the straps dig in, but very hard wearing and as said, nice on zee knees .... can't find a single pic on the net of 'em ..... but've had 'em a long time

Easiest is the ones in trousors unfortunately,snickers are the bees knees. Or look up recoil started by a lass in Scotland. Good feedback from lads that wear em.

Always had snickers work trousers. I recently upgraded from foam knee pads to the floor layers spec ones and my knees feel better for it at the end of the day.

This x100. £30 for a set of pads seems pricey but so worth it.

6 years ago I laid wood flooring throughout our house. Dislodged something in the knee and have had 6 years of troublesome knees. If I could go back in time I’d spend a £1000 on knee pads if it stopped the knee pain!

Thanks for all the replies. A toss up between the Tough built and Recoil. Would rather support a youngster doing her own thing, so have ordered a set of Recoils. I'll let you know what I think when they arrive.

feedback please. im same tried all the ones screwfix stock and they all end up round the ankles or cut the circulation off.

Got the inner and outer versions, you need big pouches for the inners.

Recoil pads arrived - just over 24 hours from order! Extremely comfortable both kneeling and walking about. Think I made a good decision investing in some decent pads before my knees start giving issues.
Only criticism I can see is the bands holding them on a elastic and not that generous so people with thin legs won't have a problem, but if you have massive legs the elastic will be highly stretched and I guess will be uncomfortable with prolonged wear. That is probably going to be an issue with any off the shelf pad and could easily be rectified by replacing the elastic with longer as it is easily removable.

Niceone, they're a decent outfit I'd pass that feedback on to Vicki, might even sort you a longer strap. Lot of floorlayers rate em.
