To be honest, this film doesn’t actually show much work, just parading machines up and down, then at the end there’s a finished cut, so there’s a lot we didn’t see. Wouldn’t surprise me if they blasted the crap out of it then moved it with what they had available, though they did have plenty of breakers. Might even have moved some bigger stuff in just for the cut. You can’t judge the hows and whys of a job from just a short clip of film.

We done a windfarm project back in 2009 and access was restricted by a railway bridge. Required most of the dozer blades to be taken off and the cat 345 excavators had to have the tracks removed and pushed into the inside of the trailer.

Yeah it was a Fiat 180, we had a good few Fiats over the years. Had the first 175 into the county.

Fiat got bought out by CNH, they still make them to this day there badged New Holland now.

they were slightly smaller that the d6 / d65 size tractors, old grandad used to like them he reckoned they would put push a d6 and d65 in a straight line. Got rid of our last one just as I started little over ten years ago.

Now that’s a rare machine in this country. I worked with a chap who owned a 175, he thought it was the best small dozer he‘d ever been on.

Yeh I was on on for about 2/3 weeks for a mate who got one hire in. Kevin Rouse ran a few when he had the dealership for CNH round here.

So what came first with the tie ups?....was it Fiat-Hitachi or Fiat-Kobelco? Did a few years demonstrating at SED back in the day and one year I got this to play with, one of the first I to land over here, and if I’m right in remembering came from Lloyd’s up in Scotland/north?? was very smooth.
