JCB js130 tracking problem

Hey

I have a js130 I have a tracking issue first thing I think is motor …. But thought I would check ….
When you start the machine and first track it works fine …. About 1 minute later it’s doesn’t work as well hardly moves in slow …. Then works in rabbit but not as fast … wonder if it’s maybe a valve ??

Is there any point under the machine near the turning joint where the pipes are close enough together so you could swap the travel motor supply’s over . If you can and the fault stays the same then the issue is the travel motor . If the fault swaps to the other side then the fault will be either in the turning joint or above in the valve block .

Also forgot to ask , does the machine have a service pedal for a breaker on the floor ? You wouldn’t be the first person to have thought something was wrong when it was only something holding the breaker pedal slightly open

So I looked at the machine today the pedal is fine and neutralises ….. what I did notice in toutoise the track doesn’t move in the next gear the track is trying to move in top gear the track spins … it’s almost like the oil supple isn’t enough

Your pump should be a Kawasaki and it is in 2 halves . One half does one track and the other half does the other track but if all your other services are working perfectly normally with none slowing down then the issue isn’t the pump.
If it was mine at this point I would swap the supply from one side to the other to see if it’s a track motor issue .
What year is it ?

I have an issue with my tracking, no services affected works fine in all 3 speeds when first started untill it’s warm then shuts to slow speed tracking even tho still in rabbit, after a while on idle will be ok again, sometime when you first pedal the tracks it’s uphms forward like it’s in rabbit but then instant back to slow any ideas?

That sounds like a sticking valve .
Firstly need to ask the guys on here @CPS and @Mick-the-fitter how does the machine switch from low to high speed ? Is it a solenoid valve ? If so could that be sticking ? If it’s jumping from fast to slow that’s where I’d be looking . What year is it ?

I’m guessing you have checked the reduction boxes have oil in them? The high speed is operated in the motor by a shuttle valve which changed the plate angle in the track motor, pilot operated and tee’d off from a single supply at the rotary joint! I’ve had this before on a JS130 it crept round corners when tracking in a straight line high speed, it was the shuttle in the motor jamming!

It’s 2004 model, is just like pressing the switch to slow track, where would they be located solenoid to replace the coil /valve to be cleaned

Check the earth's... I think there is a batch of them on the back of the cab from memory

The side that has the problem take the back plate off the track frame, tilt the frame to about 45 deg, using the arm, remove the motor bolts, pull out the motor, you can get a valve kit from JCB to reseal it!

Exactly! I think they were done under warranty when I did them for Greensheilds JCB fairly easy to do, but it was decided on one machine I did that both sides were done, normally with the track motors at the rear it’s the side nearest the kerb!
