JCB Deadman button

Evening all,

has anyone or does anyone know how you can wire the deadman button out the equation on a JCB?

Obviously the arm is also a deadman and on original designs before 2016/2017 there was no switch.

Any help or advise would be greatly received.

JCB dealer should be able to do it. It's very f****ng irritating...... how's the engcon?

Are you on about the 2 step to go thing.

It can be deleted with a man or women with a laptop. Jcb will do it and there is a few independents that can.

Yes so when the arm is down, you then have to also press the button on the right before you can do anything. Frustrating at times!

I normally just jam switch with a splinter of wood so it's on all the time then dead man lever like normal like every other digger then remove when off hired

Probably not. It will almost certainly be Canbus and the system will be looking for a specific resistance through the switch. As was said earlier, you may get a JCB engineer to turn it off, although if it's anything like some of the annoying stuff on my Audi the dealers won't offer to do it as it's a safety protocol.

You need someone with VCDS, virtually dealer spec kit and can code most things.

Just jam switch on and if you see any hs inspector snooping easley pulled out so safety systems have not been messed with

Simpler than that, actually. I bought an ODB11 for £45 IIRC and have changed something like 15 settings so far. First to go was the auto engine stop.

Not a digger, Graham Pettsy and I had gone off-topic and I was moaning about my A6 Allroad (or, more correctly, the dealers - the car is fantastic).

It's the same principle as the JCB deadman switch, though. It can be coded out, but I suspect the dealers won't do it. It may be possible to measure the resistance in the button when activated and replace that but the system will be looking for a momentary activation and may not like a continuous signal.

I'm sure I've seen somewhere that dealers have programed it out. It's obviously not looking for a momentary operation if jamming the switch down works but like anything it's easier to see if it works when your there I would make a loop of wire with a couple of spades then you've not modified anything if anyone winges/you come to sell and it would be the cheapest option

I’ve had the 2go system switched off. Just a laptop process. Jamming the switch or joining wires wasn’t an option as the switch doubles as the secondary for the hitch operation.

Although I’m not sure how sophisticated a mini would be? It might just be an analogue system?

The 8026 is nice an basic in this regard, No Canbus, auto this, Netflix that in this machine. Proper drivers machine the 8026. Its got to be worth trying a wire between the two terminals as that "2 go" system, as an experienced operator, is a pain in the arse!
Although I'm all ears if your laptop James can give me aircon?

Sorry to contradict you, Ollie, but your machine has got canbus. It's on the tilty
