jcb 803plus slew to boom

Hi everyone. I have above and when I try to switch the cab rotation to boom only (left hand switch on control) it wont work. It does work if Ive been using for hour or so. Now the machine at some point had that enviromental friendly hydraulic oil that goes thick in the oil ways like wax. (had to have this in its working life due to contracts near rivers). Now Im assuming its got to be the valve that changes it from boom to cab rotation. Does anyone know what this looks like and where to find this valve?

mine's run on Bio-oil for 24 years with no ill effects ... admittedly a good quality bio .... if you've mixed bio and mineral you may well see this effect .... full flush out required by the sounds of it - a couple of times
the valve'll be a 6 x 2 diverter, almost certainly under the floor and somewhere near the offset ram at a guess

I'd check that the switch is making contact first and is getting power. Mostly because you know where it is and it's easily tested.

I'd assume the valve is under the floor but that's just a guess

trace the pipes back from the offset ram .... there'll be 6 or maybe even 7 pipes on the valve, when you find the other end of the offset pipework

Yes that sounds sensible but it's always the way with a mini that it can be like spaghetti and very hard to tell where everything goes

When you press the button is it illuminating the boom swing light on the dash?

803 that I used to spend some time on had the same issue every so often. I suspect it was the switch on the lever as the cover was a bit worse for wear.
