Hi I am Stu, just joined the forum. I am a mechanic working out in the Falkland Islands.
Currently have a jcb 8030zts year 2015, with a strange hydraulic problem. (One I have never come across)
The digging function an slew function are very slow. But if you dead end the hydraulic system buy fully lifting the the dipper arm an hold it. All functions return to normal
Has anyone ever experienced the same problem, any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance

It’s what I do!
On the main hydraulic pump change the two hoses from P1 and P2 see if it changes the problem!

I will try that an let you know my findings, 3hour time difference over here, so will probably do it first thing in the morning.
Thanks for your advice 👍

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
one pump gone down you thinking @Mick-the-fitter - bleeding through the main valve chest on dead end....... was my first thought too (y) or is that a VDP(s) on there ?

Single plate VDP with twin valve plate(two outlets) P1-P2; I was going for a PRV on one side or the other, hence changing over hoses at the pump, doing the same job but the other way round!

Hello again yes after switching p1 an p2 the problem now affects the right hand stick functions, and slows the right track.
switch them back an returns to left stick an left track

Sounds like a prv issue, on p2 side of block, follow hoses up to block from the pump (P1-P2) where they enter the block will be a relief valve, you can change these around too, probably a bit of rubber under a seat on one of them.

If this was the case, would swapping the hoses over on the pump have made a difference? In my mind if it was something on the valve block then swapping the hoses on the pump wouldn’t have made and difference?

Agreed. I think the problem lies with the pump.

The main pump is pilot controlled, if there is no load sensing from the block then no main pump angle change, hence when the other side dead ended the pump being single plate, can’t do anything but change angle.
