Jcb 803 blade cylinder

I’ve managed to break one of the hydraulic pipe fittings on the blade cylinder, the actual one that is welded to the cylinder that the pipe screws into.
So the cylinder will have to come off to see if I can get it repaired.
I’ve removed the 2 bolts that go through the large pins at either end of the cylinder but can’t seem to budge the pins themselves, I’ve given them a good hit with a 4lb lump hammer, ( I did use a piece of hard wood to prevent damage ), but they are solid.
Am I missing something like another securing device, or could they just be seized.
I’ve tried to upload pics from my phone but apparently they’re too big🙈😂👍

The blade unfortunately is in the mud and water by design, so yes they probably seized!

I’ve soaked the pins in diesel to see if it frees them up, I’ll attack it again over the weekend

It’s what I do!
If heating do the rod end pin first, once the pin is out, extend the ram fully before heating the other end remove the hydraulic hoses, this will hope fully save the ram seals.

and extend the rod first too - try and save the wiper seals or the ram'll have to come apart anyway ..... pick the machine on the boom/dipper to extend the blade rod as much as possible then chock under the elevated end of the tracks as it is bound to creep down ... or better still put the whole machine up on a couple of sleepers ... better than grovelling on the floor

I’ve soaked both ends now for days in penetration oil and have had a bottle jack under pressure on one of the pins, no movement.
I’ve just ordered a set of hydraulic pullers and got a fresh gas bottle ready for battle.
I’ll keep you updated 🙈🙈😂👍

These buggers will not budge, 10T hydraulic pullers would up tight, heat applied as well.
Am I right in think these pins are parallel and not top hat in shape, just wanted to make sure I’m not pushing the wrong way.

Will come out from both directions

just need more heat, cherry red should do it 👍

A gas blow lamp won’t do need oxy propane

Is there a side gap between the ram end and the blade boss?
Not much room to cut the pin on mine

Don’t know how the pictures ended up like that👆

I would have a piece of thick steel plate that is spaced off the track frame held with a prop at the bottom and use a 20/30 ton jack and push it out💪

No power where the digger is so I’ve got to dig the generator out🙈👍

do you have longer legs for the puller? ... doing that is merely loading the far cheek and possible distorting the pin/boss interface, making it grip even tighter
if the pin is stuck in the ram's boss, you need to pull against the ram's mount
if the pin is stuck in the carrier bosses you need to pull against the far boss

grind some of the welds down to give you a flat, if you have to ... there's plenty on there besides to hold it all together ... if there are any gaps between the cheeks and the (I assume there is a swivel bearing in the end of the ram) bush in the ram, try to pack them so you are pushing on a 'solid' lump, rather than a seized pin floating between the two cheeks ... pushing pins out of those self centring swivel bearings can be harder than out of a solid bush .... if it's seized in all three, packing will also help ... as everyone has said ... copious heat (of the oxy/DA/propane variety - blowlamp will not do it) is going to be your ultimate friend ... getting the rod out of the cylinder as far as you can may help save the scraper seals in the cylinder as will wrapping plenty of wet rags around the exposed rod and keeping them wet/cooled .... get the front (or all) of the machine up to allow the rod's full extension or the blade overhanging an edge to allow the same thing
