Had the misfortune of having to use one of these yesterday to dig about 20 metres of footings around 1.75 deep.ive never used one before and I’m not a fan of smaller jcb excavators.getting in and out was tight for me and certainly not easy.im 6 ft tall and leg room was pretty tight too.i thought putting the seat back would improve the sitUstinov but it was already right back.did not find it comfortable either.being a hire machine,2 years old and with about 1600 hours on it I’m sure the power of the pumps had been turned down and this certainly did not help.bucket geometry was very poor in my opinion and having to dig a vertical wall against house was not easy without continually moving back and forth.boom offset to the right was just appalling and visibility was just dreadfull too and with the side window only opening about 8 inches that did not help.suprisingly both windows on right side of cab only opened about 8 inches each rather than one window fully open so cab ventilation was also poor and at 26c yesterday it was hot.only thing I liked about it was that it had 3cx bucket teeth rather than the usual mini teeth and that was a help digging in clay and tree roots.im guessingbthe buckets were jcb as they had a plate welded between buckets ears.dont know who made the hitch but I’d never seen one like it before with a large locking plate fixed to side of hitch.just my opinion on these machines.
