JCB 8018 hose replacement.

A little while ago I blew a bucket cylinder hose on my machine. Taking it out was no problem. Getting it to thread back in the boom is another matter. I assume I'm hitting a gusset where the boom bends. On the dipper side of the bend I see an diamond shaped gusset with a hole in the middle with some round stock welded on either side as fairleads. Looks like the aux hoses go through the center hole and the bucket hoses go through the triangle outside the diamond. Has any one replaced one of these hoses and know some neet trick to make it easy. In hind sight I should have sent a pull cable down with the old hose, but I didn't want to leave my fish tape out in the rain. Forgetting completely about the spool of aircraft cable I have.

easiest way - but too late for you - is couple the two hose ends together with an adapter and pull in the new one as the old one comes out ...

Have you got a cobra you could use to thread a rope to pull the hose through??

I always tie some blue rope on the end, usually plenty laying around.
