JCB 8018 CTS

Morning all,

I own a JCB 8018CTS 2015 model, the digger itself is running very good, but it has developed 2 problems. First problem is that the main cab safety switch that turns on the all the controls does not want to stay on, when you press it and hold, it works just fine, but soon as you release it does not stay turned on. Now i thought it was the switch ordered a new one, didn’t help, cleaned the connections and checked the relays all work okay. The second problem is very similar, its about the 2 speed tracking, where the button does the same thing (you have to hold it, so it works).
Would be very grateful if someone has any ideas whats wrong.

perhaps the buttons trigger latching relays and they're no longer latching??
if the buttons're momentary type, then they would need some method of maintaining their 'on' function?

Or there is an earth problem to the pilot valve

Well i tried switching them out for new ones and it didnt help

but were they LATCHING type or simple std momentary units (a) that came out and (b) what you put in???

If it’s like my 2015 86c, the switch is a non latching type that sends a signal to the ecu to unlock or lock everything.

Possibly another safety sensor is knocking the lock back on again straight away?

yeh a momentary push button sends a signal to either ECU or latching relay .. some thing has to keep the service 'engaged'/energised
