Jcb 8014 power loss

Hi all, it's been a while.
I have a jcb 8014 CTS 2015. I haven't used it for 3 months but even before then I noticed it was losing power. Today I went to start it for the first time in 3 months ( I live in the south of France and had 40° plus summer) and it turned over and as it started to fire it just cut out. I tried checking water trap , fuel connections, fuel cap etc as I suspected air in the fuel system then I left it a couple of times and eventually it has fired up but on revs as soon as I try to track or use the arm ,the revs drop right down to the point it stalls , and if I put it up to full revs it drops and wants to stall. Any ideas what to try first ? Thanks in advance. (V8 Druid i have the timer running for your reply lol)

sounds like fuel starvation (or lack of a clear breather in the tank?) or ...
a breaker pedal slightly off centre/neutral
or same issue with your boom slew pedal ???
does it turn over OK?
if so it's more likely a fuel issue
any banjo fittings anywhere - often filters in those which sludge up for a past time

Hi again good to here from you. Yes it starts fine now but just the power issue. I am pretty sure it's a fuel starvation issue as well, but not sure what to try first.

Just undo the cap and it will tell you if the breather needs more investigation

Thanks so much Smiffy, I just took the fuel cap completely off and it's working 100 times better, i just ran it for 30 mins and all was good,Still drops a little if I hit a hard bit but I think it always did. So what is the next step now as I obviously can't leave the cap off full time ?

Now you know it's the fuel breather to go looking for. I'm not sure I think these might have a vented fuel cap.

sorry mate, i am confused now, are you saying the cap is the breather or i still have to find the breather ?

I'm not sure. I think from memory the last one I looked at the cap was the breather.

so that means the cap is blocked so try and clear that or get a new one ?

Yeah if it is vented turn it upside down and there will be 4 rectangular holes in circle around the little loop that the chain attached to.
If it's the type that won't let you ever tighten then they come apart. But getting them apart without breaking anything may be a challenge I've never taken one apart. Only dropped them and they fell apart

relatively well thanks apart from my fourth bout of pancreatitis a fortnight ago
I'll take a look at my cap tomorrow on the 8015 and get some pix ... pretty sure mine is a vented cap -- 's a big lump of a cap under the bonnet
lack of free ventilation to the tank certainly sounds like the issue
