Not sure on your model but early ones it was a 13mm bolt under the lever gators .
I used to operate a cat 428 and levers were + patern, when i was given a 3cx i some times used to alter them.
My moxy is + patern

Yes as above states lift rubber gaiters there is a type of universal joint between lever and its support slacken off bolt holding lever part and turn the whole lever about 1/8 of a turn may need to turn up a bit to get smooth movement.

The newer ones are still the same! Had a brand new one and the lever came off in my hand!

the uj may need turning a little it should of been uj not up, there is a bolt top and bottom of uj if its a bit notchy or uneven by just turning the lever part turning the uj a small amount makes it a lot smoother you may only need to do the top bolt and lever though.

I've seen them as standard x pattern but the particular one had been....let's say butched to do it.

I learnt on the plus pattern. I occasionally switch back the backhoe plus on the 432e just to keep me keen. Occasionally I drive a 3cx and it does take an hour or so to get fully back in the swing of the x.

Similar with grab lorry controls. Mines the old atlas levers but everyone now seems to prefer the epsilon levers and don't like to use anything other

I think I have a set of king post pins/bushes/shims to fit your machine (project 12?) will be having a huge clear out soon so will dig them out then..

Thank you so very much for explaining everything ,i have now turned both the lever and the UJ and that works now + pattern although the levers are very close and slightly crossing when slewing right and closing the bucket but i can live with that as there's no way i could work with the x pattern its just not natural .Thanks again for all your help and those others that contributed there advice to.

Thank you so very much for explaining everything ,i have now turned both the lever and the UJ and that works now + pattern although the levers are very close and slightly crossing when slewing right and closing the bucket but i can live with that as there's no way i could work with the x pattern its just not natural .Thanks again for all your help and those others that contributed there advice to.

You could lengthen the two pushrods that go down to valve chest that should help the crossing over the two central spools it should be i think. If you start out on the x pattern the plus pattern feels right and everything seems to flow well but each to their own preferences I think.

Big thank you again for all your suggestions and info , i will try what you say and hopefully get it to how i want the controls and then i might start to like the machine at last that I've only just had .Regards Dave
