After some help/advice please

2017 JCB 3CX Contractor (3500hrs) is cutting out under load above 1500rpm, no stuttering just shutting off, ignition stays on just stays "Stop now" gives code P025300. "Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control A Low (Cam/Rotor/Injector)" Will start straight back up when you turn the key.

Will drive fine and do inclines in all gears as long as you don't push it too far past 1500rpm. It will also cut out if cycling the front loader and dead ending the bucket at full revs after circa 50 seconds.

Noted it seems to get worse in the warmer weather. Operates absolutely fine otherwise. Doesn't seem to be getting any worse, this has been on going for a few months now.

So far i have:

Changed all relays - starter, lift and power hold, checked all fuses on the machine. Battery gives good voltage and good voltage on the lift pump, the lift pump is still running when the engine dies.

Changed the lift pump and filter for a genuine, along with the secondary filter, fuel is crystal clear and blown back into tank, no obvious debris. I'm getting 2.3ltr off 2 cycles both at the lift pump and after the 2nd filter.

It has been plugged into service master and passes tests with regards high pressure pump and pressure on the rail etc...

Ive changed the IMV as service master points to that. Changed the fuel temperature sensor, pressure sensor and had a leak off test on the injectors which showed 2 letting by so had them all changed but no joy also had the common rail changed again no joy.

Engineer ran it with a new TMAP sensor from his van which made no difference and the TMAF sensor is clean.

Checked wiring harness but no signs of damage, there is 12v to the imv and a 5v signal.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as you can probably guess i am beyond frustrated. The next step would changing the high pressure fuel pump but wondered if I've missed anything obvious? Service master suggests bypassing the fuel cooler but not sure if that would affect the fuel delivery as its on the return.

Thanks in advance,

Jonathan

Would it not throw a code for the sensor? Will check it anyhow.
i have read elsewhere there can be issues with fuel pump relay the contacts in it get burnt or deteriorate there was an update on the type of relay but this was a few years back, how old is the machine. i will try to find the post i read it was on a plant fitters group on facebook .

Yes the relays were upped in amps for the fuel pumps

I changed all the relays and the power hold, the electric lift pump doesn’t cut out when the engine dies. Will check the crank shaft sensor Monday, failing that I will bite the bullet and get the HP Pump changed as I've run out of ideas. Will keep you posted as im sure i won't be the only one who has this issue. Hopefully this thread can help someone along the way.

Update as promised - a new high pressure fuel pump solved the problem, there was scoring on the inside of the old pump, so it must of been catching under high load and either slowing it down or stopping it temporarily, obviously got worse when hot as the metal expanded?! Glad to have it fixed but certainly emptied the wallet.
