Is the backhoe loader a thing of the past?

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
Bob Davies would have that down to Devon for that sort of money I'm sure! @Stroppymonkey if it's a good buy you'll soon forget about the day to go and look at it and haulage.
I had a 500 mile round trip to eyeball the 'Drema ... was a loooooooong day and Mog did me a good deal on a convenient return load, but was still 500 quid ten years ago

I doubt you'll find much tidier than that tbh for the money- looks genuine.

Its been taken down now. Someone has had a bargain :) My time will come. I am tempted with a 2CX with a set of forks. Nimble little things.

Narrowly missed this one yesterday. Only 50mins away. I clocked it and messaged within the hour but someone else already had a viewing booked. It’s been up for sale for a month at £14000 but I didn’t even bother messaging at that price. Poor old bugger is 81, bought it for 14k, found he can’t get up into the cab and now had some other health issues and needs it gone. Think he got clobbered for the Vat. Ah well. There will be another.

Found another pop up. 1999 580 SLE and one cornish owner from new with genuine 3000 hours with servo front and rear. Wants 18K +vat for it though :-(
Managed to track down previous owner…. It’s not ONE owner as mentioned but last owner 5 years and bought from dealer before that so it’s not been farming. Hours of 3500 LOOK genuine. It’s ServoPower so pilot control and has ride control, auto bucket reset/ 3 speed hydraulics on back end and auto bucket rattle on rear. Dealer doesn’t know this, info all from last seller. Very high spec , which possibly not a good thing on a 24.5 year old machine. It wants a new pair of rear boots. £18K+vat is well out of my reach unless he wants to PX some stuff that I might be happy to chop in. Think it’s overpriced by about £2K but what do I know?

In my experience with buying a backhoe - nice ones come up rarely and when they do, they are always over your budget. £2k over isn't bad to be honest, mine was 15k more than my very top end
If you don't buy it, someone in Poland will. These pre stage 4 emission machines are very sought after and to be honest if it was a JCB it would have sold in hours - that's from my own experience of looking for one for months and being on secret lists of serious buyers that get called before machines are even advertised. Regy had a few buyers lined up for mine if I didn't buy it, I'm grateful I got the chance first.
If its the spec you want and is tidy - offer him and buy it! Its not going to loose much in the next 10 years is it!

Plus we need more backhoe owners on here. Owning a 3tonner with tilty has become too popular :ROFLMAO:

What’s ironic is when I sold my last backhoe in 2016 I couldn’t give it away!! 6 yrs old full spec contractor, not a scratch on it & I got 25k for it 😖 could or ran it to death and probably got more for it if I sold it this week..8years later!
