Is the backhoe loader a thing of the past?

Just realised I purposely let my 180backhoe CPCS expire this year, after having it for nearly 20yrs.. I think I’m competent enough without a plastic card to show!
Had a letter from the people who issue it in the week as registered a new company a few months ago. Put it in the bin f**k em for now

I have a ticket not cpcs, did all the cta crap years ago then they changed it so I thought f##k it. Renew every five years to have a badge with my face on for a few quid. All a load of bollocks really!

I keep on top of my 180 ticket, purely for the reason it's a good go to if I ever end up very quiet/stuck for work.

I like to know I can if I need too and I quite like driving now and again.

To be fair I doubt it will loose that much money so worth persisting with it for a bit. What's it like on the road? Suppose you probably only go a few miles for a job😂
40kph box and soft ride, it drives lovely until you come to a hill.

About as good as it gets without a modern 50kph machine with torque lock.

Have you sampled the guiness yet ?
Yup. Still meh. Prefer murpheys, less sweet.

Had a night sampling around two dozen Irish craft beers. Utter rubbish I’m sad to say. All refrigerated, over hopped crap.

The worst was a DIPA. Apparently that stands for double ipa. Couldn’t take more than a sip- was like drinking dettol. Absolutely foul.

Currently drinking Smithwicks red ale. Nothing to write home about.

I’m in Ireland currently. Donegal, so the arse end of beyond.

35 euros an hour for a new jcb 3cx and operator, on hire to the council 😳
And they'll be fighting to get that contract in Donegal 🤣

Did you drive over? You might be passing near by if you did?

In the seriousness of it all, I've lost who's got what available and what the que position is.

I do think I want to go down the backhoe route again so I would like to join the que on the case at whatever the last position is.

I've a 432 to look at but it's well worn, so I'd rather explore alternatives.

Might be near to you tomorrow morning on the way back to Dublin airport.
