I am looking forward to getting my 90 to the magical 40years old mark. There is a Range Rover Classic in the barn that is also ticking slowly towards to the big 40. I won’t be driving any new stuff unless the lottery comes up trumps. And I very rarely play!!
It will be interesting to see what happens in the near future regarding classic vehicles, results of last summers consultation about MOT testing of classic vehicles have been published, with more responses in favor of having a test. While looking into this, I wouldn't be surprised if the current government look upon this as a revenue raising scheme and reintroduce road tax as well.

I can see the sense in having an MOT. Apparently some classic car policies still want a valid MOT.
I will be very upset if the 40 year tax exemption is cancelled

well they always used to have to have an MOT .... only a recent thing - MOT exemption ... when I first started to run Historics, the bonus was zero VED and that was all (oh and had to be pre Dec. 31st 1972 to qualify)

I'm really hoping it's still in place when my 90 is 40 in a few years but I'm not holding my breath....🤬😫
Not so bothered about the mot, find a sensible garage used to that type of vehicle and keep it up to scratch, 40 quid or whatever it is is not a lot to have a professional eye run over it once a year.
But the tax, just let it go ffs, its almost certainly not going to be a daily so you'll be paying out on all your other vehicles, you'll still be paying tax on fuel, vat on parts, insurance and all the rest of the costs of running a vehicle. All money that you might otherwise spend on foreign holidays and long haul flights 😆 🤣

not seen a Grenadier anywhere round here yet, but the number of Defenders increases weekly and exponentially ... don't go far, but they seem to be everywhere lately
