Impact wrench - for auto and u17 digger

Thanks. I generally get the biggest batteries available for my cordless stuff. It's nearly all Bosch professional stuff, so switching to another brand means new batteries and charger.
I have an old 120v Dewalt impact wrench, but I am finding to too big to do car work, so looking for something smaller but powerful enough.
Might split the difference and get a 2.5 and a 5 or 6 AH.

They do look less cumbersome! Been looking at prices here and pulling what's left of my hair! Sub £200 (power tool mate ) delivered in the UK ....... Double that here in France! Looks like I will be canvassing friends to see who is doing a UK trip anytime soon lol

Been researching and there seems to be some evidence that you don't get the full oomph unless you use the 5AH batteries, something to do with the arrangement of the cells ....... Though it probably doesn't make that much difference in the real world .....

I've only ever used 2/2.5s in my 3/8th m12, never felt it lacked power but I'm not trying to do wheel nuts or suspension bolts with it. That's what the 1/2 m18 is for

Agreed, first held the m12 riviter at LAMMA a few years ago, felt awful in the hand, really disappointed. Tried it again later in the day, much better. took me a while to figure out what the difference was- 5ah in one, 2.0 in another.
Apart from 1 2.5 high output all of mine are 2.0s, including a couple of Chinese knockoffs, and I've never been disappointed with the performance

An impact gun has it's place, but it's never been my 'go to tool'.
If you have brand stable, then adding to the set makes sense, but cordless looses it's attraction if you need a battery and charger just for that one tool.

I have no idea why my post says "Furniss" at the top, but I can not get rid of it. Strange!

Anyway, I have an air gun but my small diy compressor will not run it. My 120v dewalt is big, heavy and clumsy. I normally buy Bosch pro, but the Milwaukee unit is cheaper ( and from research better), than the similar Bosch unit, and cheaper than the bare Bosch unit. I can buy the Milwaukee + 2 high output batteries + charger for less. It's going to be a Christmas present, and as I get older, anything that makes the job easier is a bonus.

Airs great but obviously needs big compressor.
Still got all mine from old days.
M18 mid torque does all my old Ingersol rand ever did and no hose to twat you in the face.

Looks like a compressive set. The thing I like about the Milwaukee set are the markings! Yes I k is you get to "know" where they are in you "box" , but the numbers just jump out at you on these. Only time will tell if that lasts!

That Halfords set is £79.99 with a trade card. If I hadn’t just bought a cheap and cheerful chinesium set I’d probably buy one
