I think the wiring comes in pre assembled units, and sections are connected together, rather than someone making a loom from scratch.

I knew there was a reason why I stuck to the standard halogen units

And the lids that fall off and disappear for fun, but can’t be replaced other than buying a complete new junction box….

My tipper is the same . The wiring is shocking . Mine has a charging module for the battery and before it was 2 years old I renewed it myself with a module that actually managed to keep water out . I had to wire a new 13 pin socket on it 2 days ago and some of the wires were black . I will be rewriting the whole thing as soon as I have a shed to put it in .

I had a brake that I fixed - crap design where the fog and reverse light has a loose wire that dangles between ramp and bed and redone it and the wires are black

Looking like it was a failed connector to the rear light. Something inside the sealed plug was shorting, only marginally not enough to set the multi meters buzzer off but enough to display
