Identify please

Can anyone identify my small excavator it’s a hitachi assume it’s around 3 ton ? Engine has been changed to a Perkins and in need of some restoration work so as much info as possible and any one know the lever set out what does what and how. appreciated. Paul

Im going to call it a heavily modified Hitachi UE40

I think so, could be a UE30, but the tracks look longer.

Not totally sure, as said it has been modified. It could even be a white elephant and not be a Hitachi at all

If it helps the blade has two rams as opposed to most I’ve seen with a single one in centre.

Also it does not have joy stick controls only has floor mounted levers ??

Afternoon all.
It looks like a UE40. Any iv seen have a short dipper like the 30, but bigger undercarriage like the 50. If the engine has been swapped out it looks like the engine compartment and bonnet are extended.

Looking at the blade. Mitsubishi 040 or a Nissan N41 (likely earlier, I think the 41 where pilot controlled)... I'd actually lean more towards the Nissan

Im leaning that way to now... all the hitachi cabs are slightly sloped back... where as this one slopes forward slightly

On edit just googled and i dont think its mitubishi ether

used a nissan n41 many years back i am sure the controls were the same as the uho hitachis took some concentration to get my head around, but it was much better than a shovel.

It would not be the first time someone has stuck Hitachi stickers to disguise an “inferior” machine!!
I remember the very early Daewoo DH110 I think it was. Spray it a different colour and it was a ringer for the same size hitachi that had just stopped production if I remember correctly!! It was an awful lot cheaper!!

Hitachi UH063 I think the 110 daewoo was built on licence from hitachi
