Our local shop, last March. The “break Glass Sensors” were a waste of money.

only if they weren't responded to Bri .....
used to have them in my old workshop and caught several groups of kids over the years, bricking my windows ....

on one occasion, a Sunday lunchtime, shift change at the local plod shop, they all went off ...
had 5 down the length of the shop ...
both shifts responded and i had my system set up so the monitoring station could tell me exactly what was in alarm state, so I knew exactly where to look when I arrived on site ...
rang plod and told them to head for the park alongside my workshop as the windows were likely being bricked ...
they arrived both ends including a dog handler and rounded up about 20 ****ing teenagers ...
had to call for a big van :giggle: ...
took 'til about 8 in the evening to process the little b'stards and get all parents in to the station ..
all locked up 'til collected :giggle: ....
many of them from 'homes' that'd know better ...
bet some took a kicking when they got home ....
did well over a grands-worth of damage, which was eventually paid for by parents ...
all got a full police caution on their newly acquired records

My break glass detectors did well for me.

This was done by someone who’d absconded from a young offenders centre half a mile away. Times have changed.

sadly true Bri

before the new reg. dates changed and the 1st of Aug was a big day in the motor trade, I used to use my yard to store new motors for the Renault garage across the way from me (for a fee) and had pushing 60-70 new vehicles sat at times.
Yard was fully alarmed with carefully set out break beam detectors .... and the garage even used to pay a night watchman for a week or two.

I had just locked up, one Saturday afternoon and the system went off ...
yard beams all over ...
shot back and went looking ...
plod arrived about 5 minutes later ...
caught two little c***s trying to chance their arms amongst the vehicles ...
plod had already picked this pair up twice in the day, in the town, up to no good ....
had come up from Newport on the train for a day on the rob, but weren't doing too well :ROFLMAO: ...
things suddenly got a lot worse for them ...
two big 'proper coppers' bounced these little b'astards off my workshop doors for a good 20 minutes, before kicking them the full length of my yard to their vehicle ....
" I saw nothing officer " :giggle::cool:(y)(y)
they apparently took 'em straight to the railway station cuffed the pair of 'em to seats on the train and arranged for their 'collection' at Newport station, where they were well known regular troublemakers :giggle::giggle:
