Last Friday - A40 Aber to Raglan DC - 9 miles with no entries/exits - limited laybys - 2 miles from Raglan a gert triangular sign cable tied to to a post in central res " Cycling event" .. FFS --- no other road users would be allowed this!! .... and not a soul to be seen
Many years ago, I lived just outside Raglan and the old road from there through Gwehelog to Usk was a lovely two wheeled road .. used it regularly on the bike.
Came round a blind left hander, 'bout two miles out of Usk to find circa 50/60 cyclists strewn about the road's full width , stationary - how the hell I didn't hit any of 'em still beggars belief ... zero signage/warning - was their start/finish point, down to Usk and back (downhill) in the middle of a set of sweeping blind corners ...
