The whole thing is a convenient way if taxing the crap out of people for a green agenda.
There is climate change and it's not some new phenomenon that has started since the dawn of the industrial revolution.
The earth has had at least two ice ages, so only stands to reason that there must have been an opposite hot age to complete the cycle.
Is humans contribution making a huge change, who knows but if we weren't here the roaming wildlife would still be producing massive amounts of methane.
The fact is no one actually knows, they have invested millions into computer models predicting this or that for the climate, yet can't even get the weather right for the next day let alone week/month/year.
You only have to go back a few decades where temperatures dropped and they were predicting an ice age, plus all the famines and other bollox that never happened.
I'm no scientist but I doubt any real impact would be seen in 10 plus generations.
The biggest problem we have would be running out of the finite oil and gas resources that will happen way before any of that

Renewable energy at a sensible cost (what it actually costs to produce solar panels turbines etc) basically has the potential to allow joe bloggs to be able to power and heat their homes for very little cost at all. The fact that it may or may not be better for the environment is not what the general public care about. The govt can't allow us to have free heat and power because the economy and big businesses (energy companies) would suffer so as you say the green tax exists.

This is the main point, only those well off can buy their solar panels outright. It's the same for electric cars, only benefits those who can afford to do it, plus once they hit a wide percentage of cars driven it will turn to pay per mile doe to the loss of revenue.
Read earlier how octopus energy were saying that producing new solar farms takes a year but national grid connection can take 6 years.
Also with all the talk of putting solar panels in the desserts and running giant cables back to the UK at a cost of billions they could just provide solar panels to every building instead or sell at a massive discount, but a scheme that would make sense like that wouldn't earn all the utility companies money

Ram Pump does work. No power/fuel. Just exploiting physics.
