The diagram shows in/out and 2x leak off possibilities, but if it’s Bidirectional moving the plate 35degvthe other way should reverse the flow! Looking at the valve photos the relief is on one side!

There is a 'rear drain' option - that adds a third port (L3). Seems reasonable you just plug the unused ports.

That would explain the input port not changing for direction reversal (I thought it was a typo)
