A bit of extra length won't matter at all (not until you start racing it).

Buy cable by mm^2 rather than amps - it's harder to lie about.
You can pull 1000A though a 6mm cable, but the insulation will melt and the cable will glow.
As above, 35mm^2 will give you a solid start.

the square mm-age is calculated by taking the the core diameter and multiplying by Pi (3.142) so 8mm dia would give you circa 25mm2 roughly (it should be done with each individual core strand and then added together to get a true figure)

Ah - I can't do a "superscript 2", so this is the common method to indicate area. It's pretending to be this: mm²
So, 35mm² means the cable cross-section is 35 square milimeters area.
Your 8mm cable works out to be 50 mm² (which is better than 35)

very frustrating though - the state of my head ATM .... I used to use this sort of stuff day in, day out, fabricating .. that was a pretty basic error
I REALLY want this bug to do one - NOW!!
day 22 and I am still far from 'with it' ......
cough has all but gone, but still 'wiped out' physically and so 'disconnected'
we had to go do a shop yesterday and get Pam's med.s .....
was completely ferked afterwards and only a couple of hours

Sounds as though you are a similar age to me. I can't do anything like I used to. My Late Mother-in-Law used to say "don't grow old, it's nothing to look forward to" and me, with my smart-backside reply used to say "well, it's better than the alternative" and I still believe it is but it is very frustrating at times. Just been to our local Church for Snowdrop Day with tea and cake inside and have seen quite a few people that I know but can't put a name to them !!!

I have similar issues with names ... was always good at recalling faces - putting names to them could be uphill at times though and is now getting worse, by the month !!
can be several days, before a name will come to me to attach to a face

Pah, you're only a youngster yet. I will be 11 years older than you in 27 days time. It's the main reason why I have to ask for the help on this Forum. If I dismantle anything I have to take photoaphs of it all first or else I'm jiggered when I am putting it back together again. And yet I can remember stupid things like vehicle registrations from 60 years ago. And not just mine, I can remember some that belonged to friends as well. But I am so glad that I'm the age I am. I have seen the best days.

yeh they seem to have quite a following in the 'go faster stripe' world.

couple of mil off the top of the carb slide gave it another 5mph ... was a great little bike ...
at the time my younger brother and his mates were whizzing around on 'Fizzies' and could whoop their arses with the Cub

seem to be a bit of a cult thing 'round here ATM ... looks to be a lot of ppl green lane-ing on stripped down C50s
